Members of the Africa Unite team joined Peer Educator Karen in Heideveld on Friday for a human rights workshop. This is the first of a series of workshops Africa Unite will hold in Heideveld. The event was held in Cathkin Community Centre.
Local youth and adults from the community were in attendance. Our peer educator gave her workshop in a mix of English and Afrikaans, and she wonderfully engaged her peers in a human rights education. The jovial atmosphere gave way to enthusiastic group work, sharing, and learning.
Outside the community center, the Africa Unite interns gave a short presentation to local children about human rights and joined in on some games. It’s never too early to start learning your rights!
Thanks to all who attended the Heideveld Workshop
