On the 11th of July 2015 Africa Unite had to say goodbye to one of its intern Federico Elizondo a Psychology and Sociology student at the Colgate University in the United States of America.
Federico offered fresh ideas and quickly got along with the rest of the staff and peer educators at Africa Unite. He was largely involved in drafting Africa Unite’s official complaint to the South African Police Services for their failure to take action during a massive looting of foreign nationals’ shops in Soweto Johannesburg by local people. Federico also had the privilege to attend various meetings and workshops together with facilitating human rights information sessions in various schools and communities.
He had an impressive team spirit, friendly, easy to work with and he had interest in human rights education. Africa Unite family will miss Federico and wishes him the best in his future endeavours.
