Africa Unite closes the curtains on the year 2013

In order to close the end of the year 2013, on the 12th of December  Africa Unite’s, staff,  peer educators, interns and board members took a day out together to celebrate their hard work, challenges and sDSCN4040uccesses of 2013. The event took place at Spier’s Moyo restaurant in Stellenbosch where everyone had the time to enjoy the fresh environment, vibe, nature and the delicious food.

The day started with a staff meeting held at the Africa Unite office where the staff, peer Educators and interns gave their views on 2013 DSCN4056achievements. One of the highlights of the day which was also organised was the farewell of Lucinda Piet our young administrator who is going on maternity leave. The two board members’ representatives present, Tanya and Nonhlahla, together with the staff had the opportunity to give presents for the expected baby.

Africa Unite would like to thank its staff, volunteers and interns for their hard work that has not gone unnoticed. We appreciate all the long hours, and feelings of frustration and relief when we have conquered what seem to be, at that time, the impossible.DSCN4097 We would like also to thank our board members for their input and advice, not mentioning the contributions made by our funders and individual contribution through PayPal, without them we could not have achieved this.

We would like to inform our members that we will be closed from the 13th of December and we re-open our doors on the 9th of January 2014, ready and fresh to start a new year.

May you all have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
